Are you going to self publish it or is it for an anthology? It would be great to see you put together a book of a bunch of strange short tales like this, maybe the moon story could go in there as well?
My goal is to have a 28 page mini ready for print this July. I've got another story in mind that could be anywhere from 8 to 12 pages and will most likely do some full page gag cartoons as filler.
I use Sakura pens and a 4b pencil for shading which I'm discovering doesn't scan well. I used to use colored pencils, black and then white on top for blending. I may go back to that.
I love this, how many pages are you shooting for?
