Here's the first two illustrations for a book by the notorious bizzaro fiction writer Tom Bradley. I've done several book covers for him, and now I'm illustrating his latest. The book will be published by Mandrake of Oxford next spring.
Here's the cover I did for Tom's novel 'Bomb Baby'
And here's the cover I did for 'Epigonesia' by Tom and Kane Faucher. How many famous dead writers can you identify? (Actually, I think Bukowski might still be alive.)
Hey! welcome David!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about this Tom Bradley but I'll check if it's translated in french
I especialy like the first one & the babybomb!
Welcome aboard David!
ReplyDeleteHello David, good to see you here! I love the bomb baby. What has he (it?) been eating?
ReplyDeleteWelcome!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of technique you used for the first two?
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteHey all--thanks for making me feel welcome! The first two pieces are a combination of graphite and digital collage. The main figures are rendered in graphite then scanned into photoshop and refined, then married to a collaged background. The Bomb Baby book is about a baby who survives Hiroshima but is deformed and then becomes some kind of traveling prophet...
ReplyDeleteI don't know if Tom's work has ever been translated into French. He's an American expatriate living in Japan, so it's very possible his work is available in other languages. I describe his writing to people who haven't read him as a love-child of Tom Robbins and Kurt Vonnegut on acid. It's "bizarro" fiction...
' as a love-child of Tom Robbins and Kurt Vonnegut on acid.' - impressive, I need to find out more about it!
ReplyDeletehej & well come to EBD!
ReplyDeletebtw, great stuff!!!
Welcome, new Duck! Can't wait to see more!
