Family Viewing

Yet an other oldie, redone in duotone for riso print. It's interesting what happens with the adding and erasing of colour this way. The title probably refers for the film by Atom Egoyan of the same name (1987), but it is a bit long ago. Originally used for my self-produced anthology Thank god it's Ugly, issue 3, when i was really into experimenting with warped moire effects.

Aleksei Balabanov R.I.P.

This drawing (from Y2K) was heavily inspired by Of Freaks and Men by Aleksei Balabanov R.I.P. It's about pornographers in St. Petersburg around 1900 and how they bring about the downfall of a wealthy bourgeois family. He did many other fascinating films, like Brat, Morphia, the brutal Cargo 200, A Stoker and his swan song, Me Too (2012).

British Cheese Gardens

A golden oldie which was done together with my fellow countryman Matthias Giesen in 1996, for my anthology "Thank god it's Ugly", which was active until 2002. My pal did the pencils, I did the inking and the zip-a-tone. Actually, I miss those zip-a-tone days, and analogue printing. How about you, guys?
