Hello
so we finally have a new issue for Alkom'X ! That was a 2 years fight with difficulties, mainly from printer's departure (or maybe because he doesn't want to make it anymore? the day we came with paper and file he said "no") and hunt for a new one. Living countryside isn't best for that! Another reason was being invaded by thousands requests from a world we don't want to live in forever, like ok for a visit and diplomatic relationship but not for a lifetime! Something like graphic hype with aggressive attitude, "publish me you need to have me in" or "i did this especially for you, publish it!" where nothing was catching our need or possibilities. So we took distance and wait for a calm down. We then started to mount Alkom'X 9 with the idea of having only un-professionnal artists***, but this is not good solution cause everyone is & self-making is almost dead. More than that french situation can't be applied to all countries and situation. So we just skip 9 to go for 10 with a more quiet selection and making. We then choosed to print the way we can, which is screenprinting. 4 months and more was needed to print 2 pages at once, hoping for good result and enough inks ^^ And now here it is! I'm happy with result and content which is still graphically hype in a way but also more comic and more peoples from different worlds.
Funny side is that I did cover by stencil to escape the silkscreen hype, but at the end we only have screen except this cover!
*** "NEIN" : I sometimes got request from professionnals of artworld, like exhibition or whatever selling market, after saying "we need you" they usually send a contract with first line like "this is a contract for professionnal artist blablabla" and i then need to answer "NO" cause I technically can't. That's also true when i want to join a collective project, where all those who told me "you need to print me" are actually involved naturally. The answer I have then is "NO, sorry". So I was in need to fix that. Not that I don't want pro art but I don't want to become a pro bridge for a pro world i can't live in. I need passion & friendship.

Dreamquest Illustrations
So this coming August the H.P.Lovecraft-convention NecronomiCon is going to take place in Providence, Rhode Island, and I will be showing some artwork in the accompanying art show Ars Necronomica among a whole bunch of other creators (our own Kurt Komoda being one of them).
Here are two illustrations of scenes in Lovecraft's "Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath" which are probably gonna be on display there. My illustrations are not super true to what's in the original text, but on an emotional level I guess they capture the gist of what's going on.
"From the motions of their tentacles Carter could see that the blunt-snouted moon-beasts were enjoying the spectacle hugely, and vast was his horror when he suddenly recognised the frantic meeping and knew that the tortured ghouls were none other than the faithful trio which had guided him safely from the abyss and had thereafter set out from the enchanted wood to find Sarkomand and the gate to their native deeps."
"Thick though the rushing nightmare that clutched his senses, Randolph Carter could turn and move. He could move, and if he chose he could leap off the evil shantak that bore him hurtlingly doomward at the orders of Nyarlathotep. He could leap off and dare those depths of night that yawned interminably down, those depths of fear whose terrors yet could not exceed the nameless doom that lurked waiting at chaos’ core. He could turn and move and leap—he could—he would—he would—
Off that vast hippocephalic abomination leaped the doomed and desperate dreamer, and down through endless voids of sentient blackness he fell."

Excuse me, Miss
A new sketchbook cover (No. 63). Working on ideas for a follow-up to The 9th Island. I have temporarily lost interest in the use of colour.

WITCH HILL
I guess the idea of Eaten By Ducks being dead really laid a stink, like a rotting carcass does in the back corners of my brain. Anyhow - here's what I'm working on right now. For Dungeon Degenerates - this is a poster/cover art for the part of the Wurstreich known as the Witch Woods & specifically Witch Hill. The old cults of the Black Goat of the Woods claim it as their own but the Imperial agents of the Wurstreich recognize it as a powerful place that needs to be controlled. Here's the first progress shot. Sometimes - instead of doing the drawing completely in each rendering level, I go ahead & get into sections before I've even pencilled other areas because I'm so excited to get rolling on the real drawing.
Here's the finished drawing. I'm channeling the idea of how book, movie & video game covers frequently misrepresent the things inside - partially because the artist has never read, watched or played the media item - but also - the nature of covers capturing the sensational aspects of the thing in order to trigger interest always works. Anyhow, despite the fact that I'm doing all the art for Dungeon Degenerates & have worked intimately on the game & theme itself - I wanted to view the game through the sensationalistic qualities of a Black Light poster or record cover instead of carefully illustrating some nuanced or linear elements of the game's lore.

Lady Coyota Rebis
Hi there!
long time not posting! must say i was in a combination of "whatever" and "who cares?" which is a neverending story with highest pick on internet where communication seems so light that you never know if there's actually someone out the screen!
Well, it took me almost 2 years to get back on doing linocut, and i finally felt on back again!
So did this for Crack festival with thematic "Coyota" who is a feminist symbol for crack fest. Here is Coyota rebis, the alchimistic version of this symbol, where Hermes Coyota and Aphrodite Coyota are melted together. This was following another linocut i made for a hand fan with alchimy on thema, so that was the mood of the moment!
cheers!

DUNGEON DEGENERATES
I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THE BOARD GAME DUNGEON DEGENERATES FOR THE PAST YEAR - IF YOU'VE BEEN FOLLOWING ALONG - I STARTED PRODUCING CARD ART FOR THIS WAY BACK IN 2007 OR SOMETHING WHEN I REALIZED THAT I STILL WANTED TO DO ILLUSTRATIONS FOR A FANTASY ROLE PLAYING GAME. TEN YEARS LATER - WE'VE LAUNCHED GOBLINKO'S FIRST BOARD GAME - DUNGEON DEGENERATES - WITH MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND & LONG-TIME CREATIVE PARTNER ERIC RADEY. HERE'S SEVEN NEW POSTERS I CREATED FOR THE GAME.

THE COLORS ARE INFLUENCED DIRECTLY BY EARLY VIDEO GAMES' LIMITED COLOR USE & BOLD, HALLUCINOGENIC COLORS SHINING OUT OF THE BLACKNESS - LIKE PULSATING BLACK LIGHT POSTERS COME TO LIFE. THE ART & TONE ARE PART OF MY BROADER WORK OF ROCK&ROLL, DRUGS, DEMONOLOGY & SEX & FUNKY, WEIRD, SLEAZY UNDERBELLY TYPE SHEEIT. YOU CAN GET THE POSTERS HERE. AND YOU CAN PRE-ORDER THE DUNGEON DEGENERATES BOARD-GAME HERE.

Re-working Childhood Drawings
Some time in 1975, I create the "book" U.F.O. Shark and Squid. Well, pieces of lined notebook paper stapled together with apparently some attempt at a plot or theme for the first few pages. Been going through some of the drawings with the intent of re-creating some of them. I was going to re-create the entire book, but some of the drawings have absolutely stumped me. I don't remember what the heck I was trying to depict in many of my drawings, and this one is no exception. I can identify Ultraman and the Science Patrol members, as well as their space/aircraft...there IS a U.F.O. that appears on a few pages....Cathedral Head was a monster I came up with.....don't know what that round thing with the spot is. It looks like the character in the lower left is holding a huge machine up, but that's a house with windows in the background. I hadn't exactly grasped perspective yet.
