Thanks, I designed the floating corpse to look like it was almost spinning so when the cd and record are turned it will look... interesting.
And thanks about Beasts! Book 2, I don't know if you're near San Francisco but I have a huge poster at the Giant Robot gallery with all those suns of bitches, not to be missed!
I think I remember you bought a few of those earlier creatures from me a few years back?
Yeah, the texture on those corpses is fantastic! The color takes your work to a whole new level. The figures look a bit cut-out though. I take it that's intentional but it flattens the figures in the foreground.
Thanks, I've been really pushing color in some recent projects and have been getting my head better and better wrapped around it.
The colors in this have been darkened, the image has gone through a long process of tweaks and changes. I opted out of a dramatic shadow or contrast shift across the corpses to try to keep more of the details intact. I'm sure that plays into any flattening effect. I wasn't too worried about any real physicality to the scene as it is intended to come across more... dream like I suppose.

Jezuz! As always, excellent work! The composition and movement are great, but it’s the putridness and sense of decay that always amazes me.
Oh hey…I picked up the Beasts Book 2 a few weeks ago. Your work looks great. The design of the inner covers with your monsters was quite stunning…

Really great, that chopped up,burned up diseased flesh look is nasty!

Think there's a really cool blend of cartoon and realism in it that I find very satisfying.
I love the circular frame and those reds are so intoxicating!
James Ensor would be proud.
