I've not done a lick of animation as an adult (lots of flip-books as a kid, though)... but that's a good idea. It's Sharpie on an old legal pad, but I hated the way it scanned, hence all the Photoshop wankery. Are tehre any cheap/easy animation programs you'd recommend?
Damn, I can really see it now: the lines changing from red to yellow to blue (kinda what I wanted it to do anyway) -- and It'd be pretty easy since the "lines" here are really already "pixels"
Here is a good tutorial to get you started. I've goofed around with image ready in photoshop before and it is actually very easy to use once you've got your head wrapped around it. Just think of it as a slideshow that passes through different layers in photoshop.

This would make a killer animation.
