ink studies for suburbs

Deity House
Contemplation house

Night House

Western House

These are studies for some inks I'm working out now. I've been obsessed with recess lighting for some time. I was kinda imagining that this is one part of the city, the suburbs, then eventually I want to come up with the center part, and then the outskirts.

Getting an Edward Hopper "Nighthawlks" vibe, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nighthawks.jpg

You might consider taking photos, if you're in a city, or finding them, of interesting compositions of city scenes, then replicating the realistic light effects of the lamps, etc, into your unique imaginary world.

I'd love to see you do a sweeping metropolis scene with towering structures, vast monolithic sculptures, bizarre vehicles, perhaps carriages with giant cloaked figures, and a bewildering assortment of baroque stylized buildings scattered about.

Great atmosphere in all of these. I'm looking forward to see where you go with them, but they already work perfectly fine as they are.

These are fun, i like how your world is translating into the suburban culture.

These have a great, silent, dreamy quality. I like!
