More Sketches

Ok, a few more brain storm pages worth of scratch marks, some of which I'm turning into full color drawings. The bottom right corner of the pic above is one I'm really excited to work on. It's going to be a circle of headless demonic creatures dancing around a giant fire in which their heads are flying around inside the flames.

Aah, much better without the filter.
How are you gonna handle the lighting in the image of the fire dancing demons, are they gonna have shadows cast behind 'em?
what's happening in the image top left of the lower page, looks like some crazed, fat demon with a boat on it's head!

I've got an idea for the circle of demons to have their heads on in the shadows they cast. And yes, that is a boat on the head of some large creature in the watery depths. I think I got that idea from Terry Gilliam's Adventures of Baron Munchausen. That might tie into the doodle in the bottom left of the bottom pic as a central island with a ring of outer islands in which various odd mini landscapes can be seen and a variety of sea monsters floating around in the waves.

That's a very cool idea to have the demon's heads connected to their bodies in the shadows!

Aeron these are so bad-ass! I love this stuff. Even in foetal form. I'd love to ink your comics one day, maybe after i get my studio & publishing imprint off the ground, we could do that.

You guys want to move to Minnesota and we'll start a graphic arts studio?

Hell yeah Sean, and Luke, at least we have this place to keep us all directly connected. Something that would be fun to do between all of us is some sort of weird character flip book like the Charles Burns/ Gary Panter Facetasm.

So this is how cheap charcoal turns into diamonds.

Maybe Paleo can "Mule" himself across the border..

-Actually, I think I'd rather move to Argentina..

I'd love to see all of them developed. Your thumbnails have a lot of life, man. Really neat to see.
