Final Destinations and New Blog

Hi Duckers. Had a question just to satisfy my own curiosity. I was wondering what you all do with all of the things we see on this site. Where do you use it? What form does it take? Books,CD's, etc. I know that guys like Aaron have like 50 million things in the works but dont know what he does with them.

Second thing. I have a new blog which I hope will be tied into a new zine of monster realted goodness I am working on. I am also taking Sean's lead and teaching some of my kids at my middle school about monsters in an after school program. I will post my monster stuff there and any of the normal art on the Squat thrust site. Hope you will stop by as new work goes up.

Mostly books, some stuff for musicians to go on cd's and records. I've got half finished wire armatures of demon masks that I need to finish up, not sure what will become of those. There are around 10 projects that I bounce between, all of them will be published in books sooner or later, either as their own or in art books with other artists.

My comics mostly got published in zines or anthologies. I used to selfpublish a lot until a few years ago, but haven't done so in a while. I'm planning to do a collection of Ray Murphy/Molluskhead stories some time in the close future; though. I also do commissioned illustration work for books, games and other stuff on a regluar basis.

I've never self published anything but I'd like to eventually.

do comics then they go in anthologies or I self-publish them somehow. often do something new if asked for anthology work.
shit did I miss the Ducks zine deadline by the way? I`ve been very caught up in mental life adventures lately and lost touch a bit.
I can sort that out.

I'd like to make toys but I don't feel like spending 3 or 4 hundred dollars on mold materials right now. BUT, sometime down the road. I still want to do a bunch of small M.U.S.C.L.E like toys and figure out some kind of awesome packaging.

For anyone else thinking about that, the process looks easy enough in theory. I don't have any direct links handy but tutorials I've found basically tell you to sculpt something in clay, cast in in a mold, fill the mold with durable plastic material, and that's about it.

Chris, i don't think it's an "OR" kind of thing. They both can be used for great ends. Likesay, maybe you want to make something more flippant or obscure, self-publishing or small publishing is the way to go, whereas if you want to get a mass market product out there, professional with someone handling the business end for you is better. There's all levels of shades between as well. I haven't done alot with most of my drawings as of late, because i'm so prolific & enjoy working, i tend to do new stuff for whatever project comes up. Old stuff gets filed away in the enormous bins. Aeron, my wife & i are talking about making toys in the soon. As with everything, we wanna start out small & self-made & expand into large mass market shite. Imagine bags of toys designed by me for $2!
yes!

I can't wait for you to start testing the toy making waters, Sean!! You should do a process piece whenever you get to doing that. And I'm sure you could make some really solid packaging for em too! That's the great thing about a lot of vintage weird toys, the packaging was always so cool.
