Finally a monster, and even a real Geat Old One! According to wikipedia, "Shudde M'ell is the supreme regent of the chthonians, a horrifying race of burrowing creatures, and is probably the largest and most malignant member of his kind. "

Very nice. It's probably no surprise that I'm an admirer of Lovecraftian beasties. I love your tentacles. They foreshorten in deep space really well, providing heaps of depth. The perspective on the church/house is really convincing, too.
Great, man.
Greatly appreciated, Ray!
fantastic! my old punk/thrash band The Masked Men had a song about Shudde M'ell destroying the Bay Area using earthquakes. My only comment would be that Shudde M'ell looks too physical, whereas i always felt that these creatures were kind of phasing in & out of reality.
I LOVE IT!!! You're doing some of the best Lovecraft illustrations I've ever seen and I've seen alot! I spent a lot of time today in some very large very deep caves "Mammoth Cave" and dwelled on many a Lovecraftian thing while exploring the vast labyrinthine catacombs. I was probably the only person there imagining giant grotesque beasts lurching upward through the rocky crevasses, heh. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to what else you come up with for this project!
Looks great. Kind of a more rough inking style, ;less solid blacks. Good stuff.
Cheers mates!
Sean, I get your point about the creatures being less material. Actually had occurred to me too when I planned out the illustration. I usually dislike the image of the Great Old Ones just being basically Gozilla with tentacles. But then it kinda just turned out the way it did.
This actually was the final one of the batch (20 in total). I might post more, Shudde M'ell is my favorite though.
