Just a page from yesterday in my sketchbook. I have ten pages from the journal in an anthology that we are publishing locally that looks to be very promising. We are having a release party the second Friday of March. I will have some info on where to get them if anyone wants. I was walking to work yesterday and I imagined theeyes with the blocks in them that you see here. I am experimenting with comics without panels that look just like what you see (minus the notes about the poster info).

Yesterday I had a look at the links on your blog... Loads of cool stuff.
Don't whine about being bumped, bumper! ha ha. Anyhow, i think i said this a while ago, but i think doing comics like this is great, but i really feel like your text needs to be more on the level of the art, there's too much mundanity in there... if you could somehow interconnect all the writing so that it could be read circularly or in a pattern, or if it was like a maze, why, that'd be foockin' crazee.
do you mean the content of the text or the way the text is laid down?

For what it's worth I kinda like the lettering, if anything perhaps these pages could be scruffier, e.g. with coffee stains,torn edges and more bits scribbled out to add to the vicarious feel of reading them.
Maybe try taking your sketchbook to a pub and drawing whilst drinking?
The content of the text, the actual layout it just dandy, but i was saying to also somehow make it so that the non-linear nature of the comic is emphasized, because in a panel like this, where do you start reading? Is all of this happening simultaneously? If it is, it should be weirdly connected to help emphasize that.
Ha, sorry Chris! Great sketch page, do you usually dig through your sketchbooks for ideas on larger works? I'm curious to see the sketch versions compared to finished drawings if you have anything like that?
