I made this image for one of my all time favorite books-God Emperor of Dune. Of course I interepreted the original scene from the book - which is the audience with the Emperor in the city of Onn- my way. Also I did encorporate the Emperor into the royal carriage .

Wicked. Fantastic.
Awesome scene, Something you might consider doing is taking a very thin brush and going in with a thinned out white paint to add textural details onto the blacks. Small flecks of white for reflective surfaces, thin spidery lines for patterns, things like that.
I've thought of going back to doing inks, it's been several years since I used them, and have often thought of the perfect medium to use. I don't know the right amount of water, or the brand of paint, but there must be something that can emulate a perfect, or close to perfect, adaptation of white ink.
Why is it in this day and age, we can send a man to the moon, we can download an entire library of knowledge onto wallet sized ipods, but WE DON'T HAVE WHITE FUCKING INK!?
ha, rant over
Dude- Might be my favorite I've seen by you ..
Thanks Sean.
Aeron- Yeah, isn't that funny with the white ink? I've tried a variety of different approaches with that, but it never really looks quite right. But who know's maybe by the time they put a man on Mars, they'll have good white ink.
Luke- That's mean a lot to me coming from you buddy.
Damn, I love that book, would love to see your take on Leto's deathscene.
Keep up the excellent work - a very interesting and unusual interpretation from a great book :)
