Die Ahnung - Zone 5300 Cover

Since I'm posting Lovecraft related stuff, I guess now is as good a time as any to post my recent cover artwork for the Dutch magazine  Zone 5300 (that Marcel is involved in). The issue featured also my Lovecraft-Kubin crossover short comic Die Ahnung (Premonition), which was originally part of the German-Austrian Lovecraft comic-anthology "Echo des Wahnsinns".

The little painting in the bottom right corner was actually done by Alfred Kubin in 1906.

I am still fascinated with the intensity of the blue colours, even if i saw it the first time months ago.

that's wonderful! here again déjà-vu iconic picture ;)

Yeah that blue works quite well. I probably wouldn't have chosen it if it hadn't been the extra color in the anthology book, so I can only take limited credit for that.

Thanks Alkbazz! Have you seen similar images? I'd be interested. If there are enough perhaps it's another trope that I wasn't aware of.

its like i know a lot but google is 100% unuseful to me, i'll try to find it in my library
I remember one by Carali or Edika, or was it Moebius or Caza ? i associate this with 70/80s french comic... here's one fast example from Moebius but not that same drawer on table, i'll look for more and scan

there's i think 2 different ways, one is stuff going out of artist head & the other like yours if i'm correct with stuff coming from outside to artist head... I used this with irony when doing a cover for END tape, where the guy is comiting suicide with a gun, instead of brains i used this iconic model
