Oil pastel drawings.

Here's something I've been experimenting with, I'm thinking of doing a load of these drawings and then exhibiting them somewhere.
Not sure whether to do them as an
A3 comic strip or to make 'em bigger one off drawings.

Really nice! So the lines and crosshatching are cut into the layer of oil pastel color?

It’s strange the way you line is synthetic here. Seven years ago I used to draw a lot with oil pastels. Here’s an example: http://gaiihin.blogspot.com/2008/02/splash.html (the second drawing). I’m thinking of using this media again.

Thanks chaps,
Yep, I did the drawing with thick layers of oil pastel and then scraped into it with a craft knife.
Sagauin, really liked the drawing you linked to, did you use turpentine or something on that?

No. I mixed the colours together on the paper. If I had to do that again may be I would use gloves and I surely would protect the floor. May be not actually. Anyway. I would advice you to try different oil pastels. I think I preferred the oiliest... But they are more expensive.

That's some freshness. I love oil pastels, but i hate the mess on my hands. You should totally rock a million of these though. I might have a go at them again myself, i used them alot in highschool.

I mean I squashed bits of oil pastels flat on the paper.
