Fun and incredibly bizarre concept, Marcel. The idea of elephants playing music or noises out of their trunk to raise corpses from a graveyard, so fantastic!
You know what this piece is screaming out for are a couple of odd bones, maybe a skull, sticking out of the ground in the blank spots to the left and right.
Thanks, Aeron! I know what you mean, the bottom corners could be filled with more details like bones, but I sort of wanted this piece to have an unfinished look. Then again, that worked better in black & white, without the PS trickery showing so much. Hmm. Not quite done yet.
Wonderful piece, Marcel. But yeah I was going to make the same remark, but Aeron beat me to it. Especially the left corner looks just too empty and the PS texture in that area creates a weird flatness where there should be depth. But apart from that, what a great image!
I think it could be more that the lower lighter ground areas appear flat where as the rest of the image has a distinct sense of space. If you don't want to clutter it up too much you could just as easily add some rocky formation lines, peck marks signaling dirt patches, that sort of thing, even a few twisting gradients of orangish color to emphasize a curved dirt mound extending out of the trail the skeletons and woman are walking along in the lower left that would likely help a lot with taking away the flatness of it. And of course, a skeleton hand sticking out or bit of skull wouldn't hurt!

I saw this picture in BnW, I think it was in Alkom’X… Good one.
