Summertime - Stripburger & Jyrki Heikkinen

Hey!

don't know you but here's busy, we've got more & more workshops asks from librarians and we just started our first opening show few days ago. The first show to start this year is about slovenian collective publisher Stripburger & especially about their new book called Workburger. We did invite 2 of them, David Kancan & Jakob Klemencic who did print here some metalcut & silkscreen. Then at the end of april we'll have visit from Jyrki Heikkinen who will continue this exhibition by his own work that we'll publish as a book (same way as we did Zeke, Cazzimir & Reijo).

So the show consist of originals comics, installations & silkscreened prints from the book including works by Marcel Ruijters, Lars Sjunesson, Max Andersson, Matti Hagelberg, Anna Ehrlemark, Boris Stanic, Daniel Zezelj, Pakito Bolino, Olaf Ladousse, Arkadi, Arara gang from Portugal & of course Jyrki's & Stripburger staff

Here's linocut I did for poster & the poster made by David Krancan + installing the exhibition

So is the red 'TRAVAIL!' image by you Romu? I like it, nice and bold.

Interesting colours on the elephant print also, looks a bit like a fucked up colour photocopy (which is good!)

Nice! I'd like to see what Jakob has been doing. He's really good at print-making. If he still around, give him my regards.

yes Zeke that's it thanx! I printed on various colour, 35x50cm linocut done in a day

about elephant i tried to manage David's work on computer. I like it that way but i think it's not computerdone properly, would have been most intentionnal with framed layers (here it's flat surfaces) and different layer order. It's something i can feel these last months: peoples ask me to do something their way instead of leting me manage the edition, here it's not a problem at all (it was funny r'n'r printing!) but sometimes it's fastidious to explain why the result is not what expected or why i cannot do that way... So now i try to have more regards on my own way of production

Marcel, i've posted some prints from Jakob on FB, he did 3 zincplates + 1 big plexi one, very efficiently! during that time i did 1/4 of one small zinc... we had good swap too!

Jakob is gone monday, David's yesterday, so i cant give them a kiss, but we talked of a MR show (including illuminations) in there & me having a workshop on colormaking... hope this will happen!

Thx, Alkbazz. I'll check FB. And keep my fingers crossed. No news from the museum in The Hague yet. I'll have to try again to badger them about an illumination show.

thanx Crippa! and non Max wasn't there! Actually we tried to invite someone but everything goes wrong, its not easy to live a small isolated village :/ well Jyrki Heikkinen is coming at the end of april and this is good!

Romu, I don't quite understand this bit,
'would have been most intentional with framed layers (here it's flat surfaces)'
What's a 'framed layer'?
Am interested to actually learn stuff here on EBD!

uuuhhh Zeke it's more about me learning some more english !! the correct words are "halftone layers", which in french is "trame"... Actually i'm not really sure, usually with CMYK print (where you have black) you have to work with halftone, i'm not convince by having black with 3 colors, but maybe i missed something

i dont trust myself cause i know i don't know, so if someone come with scholar background i believe him more than myself unknowledge.... but this start to evolve!

Ah, I see, yeah, this print process business is well confusing for me also! Looks good anyway.
