Looks cool so far. Since you seem to have issues with most of your drawings half way in, maybe you should look for a technique that allows you to change/retouch the image more easily like pencil, or charcoal, oil colors or digital?
Most of these drawings are in pencil stages, I never go to ink first. I definitely want to get back into charcoal, paint and graphite but it just depends on the idea being suitable for the materials.
Charcoal or soft pencils seems like a good idea, you don't have to tighten every line to make a good fantastic drawing (take Paul Rumsey or Alfred Kubin) you can get loose on your line & textures and still capture a lot of mood.
