Feeding Time
Here's another concept piece I threw together from various collaged artworks. You might recognize the bird from a recent MB post on alchemical artworks dating around the 15th century. The idea for this one is to show a room inside a castle where a giant bird thing is kept and fed by servents stabbing worm/snake creatures with spears from a pit in the floor. When I start drawing this the characters, bird thing will change a lot as I do my own thing to it but the basic composition you see here will stay the same. Originally I was going to have fishing rods hanging weird bits of bait creatures over the walls to feed the bird but I opted for the idea with the snake pit and two servants. I want to do something interesting with the chest of the bird creature, I'll either add some sort of grotesque face or maybe dozens of eyes staring out through the feathers.

It`s really interesting to see how you out your art together. I like teh idea of teh fishing rods but with the two guys as servants there`s more ambiguity about who is the boss I guess. The fact that it`s a bird means it could fly off and that adds something else interesting too.
That's a really interesting way to make a composition. Really smart.
Awesome. I've been using the computer this way too, to make collages of references which i then put together on paper. Not much different than having a giant picture file & sketching it all together, but this way is more fun & you also never know what will come up on the internet. Can't wait to see this one completed.
Yeah I suggest all of you trying this is out. It's a really good way to rearrange a composition without having to redraw it fifty damn times! It's nice having the option to put such and such crap over here instead of there with the drag of the mouse instead of screaming fuck, erasing everything and redrawing it while probably losing some of the detail you had in the original!
i really want to get a drawing tablet someday, to do comics storyboards,
you can play with the sizes of the panels, ballooons, onomatopeia with a click!
Anyway, Aeron, you're too generous showing us how you do all this amazing stuff, can't wait to the finished drawing
