Some terribly evil & malformed chaos thugs who have shambled out of the woods to disembowel passers-by. When women would give birth to these mutated wretches they'd be left at the edge of the woods to starve or be eaten by wolves, but inevitably they'd be gathered up by even more deformed creatures & raised as their own & filled with hatred of the common man. This gives them an unholy glee in the destruction of unwary travellers. These are also largely based on characters from a wonderful collection of engravings based on Brueghel's drawings i bought a bit ago.

Nice man, really nice. Why cant you draw happy things. Like Puppies. And I dont mean drug induced, punk mutant puppies with an insatiable hunger for human flesh either. GOSH!
Fantastic characters, I could see these freaks living in makeshift tree houses made from human bones and sheets of flesh above well traveled roads from which they drop down to attack unsuspecting passers by.
Brueghel's engravings are one of my perennial sources of inspiration, you did the old bastard good Sean, fantastic drawing.
Thanks, thanks, thanks & thanks. On my birthday i kind of decided that i wanted to continue my studying & weird posthumous apprenticeship under Bosch, Brueghel, Durer & Dore. Aeron, these guys are a little rubbery kneed & slavering to be able to climb trees, they're all semi-retarded. I just picture them all pressed behind a big tree or maybe they dig a hole & hide in it with crap on top of it, but yeah, they'd probably have a hard time climbing trees & building tree houses. Chris, sometimes i think my stuff is actually TOO PLEASANT, in comparison to alot of my actual artistic peers... i mean, my stuff is weird, but it's not as negative as so many of these dudes.
I could see you doing a pic of these freaks tearing up a caravan of booze, drinkin from broken jugs and eaten people.
Good stuff Sean, would be cool if these guys had a band with their own messed up d.i.y. instruments and choir of screaming victims.
The faces/beaks reminded me bit at first of The Dark Crystal -- sometimes I wish Jim Henson would have just given himself over to his darkest urges and most nightmarish visions. Maybe you can pick up where he left off. I love how they're huddled together...
