Is it that it will take an aeon for the markings to erode off the rock?

Awesome strip. Lots of really well drawn stuff, and funny too. I didn't realize you had so much work under your belt! How many other pages have you been hiding from us?

I did start the next thing since this and it`s much better. It`ll probably go in a new anthology Sci-Fi/Fantasy comic coming out probably next year called British Weapon Comics.

anything else that may have gone by the by might be found on this page here:

Only in comics suckers.

The most rabidly nutso imagery & narrative acomplished with the most fragile pen lines.

Outstanding job Jon.

crikey cheers Paleo.

The pen-line changed a bit for the new work (I was feeling a bit mentally disturbed when I started it but is that something we should ever tell anyone? I remember having this really tight deadline for a comic once and my then girlfriend cooked some pasta and put some hash butter in it without telling me, but she overdosed it massively and I had to finish the comic in another state of mind, ie long periods of staring with no concept of the passage of time, and also leaving the house randomly, but anyway afterwards you couldn`t tell which pages were done high and which down).

I think I`ll send the first two pages of the new thing to Sean for the zine.

Man, I cannot wait to see a collection of your stuff, Jon. Really genuine work ,as I think I've mentioned before.

Have you seen CF's work (Powr Mastrs)? Anyone? I love the way it looks but haven't actually read his book yet... and I wonder if it comes off as a sort of "Post-Modern" joke on sci-fi/fantasy culture or something.

Your stuff really works for me, though. Not the least bit condescending or ashamed -- totally true, if that makes sense.

The jumble of narrative threads does not feel forced, which it could in clumsier hands. I really like how evenly it reads. I did think of Powr Mastrs too, but I think you and CF are just on similar wavelengths in certain respects. Yours doesn't feel so self conscious as his sometimes does (imo) .I get the feeling that you have genuine affection for the genre stuff you use, rather than it being a pretext for fashion ( I love CFs' stuff, but sometimes it's just too....Something..."fashionable", maybe).

Ah, I didn't realize there was an entire comic attached to that! Fantastic stuff, you should do a reference to that one old sci fi flick, can't think what it's called, but it has a giant slab of rock formation on some alien planet that comes to life and chases after some lost astronaut, I could easily see you doing something like that in this story.

haha Aeron that sounds great, find me a link to a trailer or something?
well, this kind of story could encompass ANYTHING i guess which is how I was trying to set it up.

what I take from CF is his recognition that he can draw however he damn well pleases and if he feels like drawing with pencil and no ink then he does (I am opposite and draw with no pencils).
Powr Mastrs is very very depressingly good and well worth the read.

those words about being genuine in the comics means a lot to me so thanks for writing.
